The 49ers are coming off a tough last second loss against the Saints, but they didn’t just lose the game, they also lost LG Mike Iupati, and CB Tarell Brown, both went out of the game and didn’t return to the game.
Iupati has bee diagnosed with a sprained MCL, while there is no word on what happened with Brown.
Iupati is expected to miss some time, while it is however not a season ending, nor requiring surgery, according to Matt Maiocco.
For every game Iupati misses, he will lose $18,750 in a roster bonus, from his $300,000 roster bonus, tied into the 46-man gameday active roster. While Brown would lose $31,250 each game, as he has the same structure, just a $500,000 roster bonus.
The 49ers also signed CB Dax Swanson to the teams practice squad, just days after promoting TE Derek Carrier from the same squad to the 53-man roster.
Swanson will make $6,000 a week, for 6 weeks, or a total of $36,000 fr the remained of the season.
Carrier will at least earn 3 game checks, since he was signed of the practice squad, as per CBA rules state. I am unsure of what Carrier’s salary is right now. I should know more soon.
Before knowing Carrier’s salary, the 49ers are under the salary cap by $3.188 million. This includes a $66,000 dead money hit for Carrier, as he got 11 week checks for being on the practice squad.
