    The 49ers opened up minicamp today by signing 4 draft picks, and have signed a 5th, by inking 6th round ILB Nick Moody to what is expected to be a 4-year deal, worth $2,267,672, with a $107,672 signing bonus included.

    Moody is expected to compete for a roster spot behind Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman and Dan Skuta at ILB, and a primary special teams ace.

    The 49ers have started getting draft picks under contract. By signing 5th round DE Quinton Dial, and 7th rounders, QB B.J. Daniels, OT Carter Bykowski, and CB Marcus Cooper.

    According to numbers obtained from OverTheCap.com, the following overall value and signing bonuses were likely given out.

    Dial, a 4-year deal worth $2,341,652, with a $181,562 signing bonus

    Daniels, a 4-year deal worth $2,206,512, with a $46.512 signing bonus

    Bykowski and Cooper, a 4-year deal worth $2,205,896, with $45,896 signing bonuses.

    The 49ers have since the 2013 draft ended, added 12 undrafted free agents to the 90-man squad. Though these haven’t been made official, lets take a look at who those 11 players are, as there contract terms are in the NFLPA database.

    RB MarQuies Gray, Minnesota (Former Minnesota QB, who has experience at WR and TE)

    RB D.J. Harper, Boise State

    FB Alex Debniak, Stanford (Former OLB, converted to FB, similar to Bruce Miller)

    WR Chuck Jacobs,

    C Sherman Carter, Tennessee State

    OG Patrick Omameh, Michigan

    OT Luke Marquardt, Azusa Pacific

    DE Lawrence Okoye, England

    NT Michael Purcell, Wyoming

    CB Darryl Morris, Texas State

    CB Lowell Rose, Tulsa

    LS Kevin McDermott, UCLA

    I can confirm the following signing bonuses, Okoye got a $3K bonus, Purcell got a $3K bonus, Debniak got a $5K bonus, Gray got a $4K bonus, Rose got a $8K bonus, Morris also got a $8K bonus, and it appears Marquardt got a $5K bonus.

    The 49ers also added a camp leg, in former Illinois UDFA Anthony Santella to a 1-year deal.

    Patrick Willis restructured his contract today, by cutting his salary down to $715,000, and turning the remainder into a signing bonus, and the 49ers now have $2.178 million in cap room according to my numbers.

    This is the 2nd time in 2 years that Willis has restructured his deal to help with cap space, the first was with the 2011 redo, and now this one to help sign the new rookie class.


  • iupati49ers, Iupati begin talks for extension

    According to ProFootballTalk.com, the 49ers and free agent to be in 2015, LG Mike Iupati, have started contract talks on an extension.

    This comes about a week and half ago when the 49ers signed fellow would be free agent in 2015, RT Anthony Davis, to a 5-year extension, with a $7.5 million signing bonus.

    Iupati made his 1st pro bowl, and was an 1st team All Pro for the first time.

    Davis received a $7.5 million signing bonus, along with yearly $1 million roster bonuses from 2015-2019. He also has a $1.9 million roster bonus due in 2014, along with a $422,000 workout bonus due in 2014.

    Davis’ base salaries are below.

    2013: $880,000(Guaranteed)
    2014: $1.845 million (Guaranteed, if on roster on April 1, 2014)
    2015: $2.35 million (Guaranteed, if on roster on April 1, 2015)
    2016: $2.65 million ($2.1 million guaranteed, if on roster on April 1, 2016)
    2017: $4.0 million
    2018: $5.375 million
    2019: $5.375 million

    In 2015-2019 there is the possibility of $1.25 million de-escalator for workout and weight requirements, set by the team.

    The $1 million roster bonuses are an estimate based off of OverTheCap.com.

    The 49ers are now roughly around $1.088 million under the cap.


  • nnamdiAsomugha counts $1.775 million against 2013 cap

    Terms are in for Nnamdi Asomugha’s 1-year deal. It is worth $1.775 million. It includes a $1 million base salary, $325,000 roster bonus tied to game day actives, $25,000 workout bonus, and $425,000 in likely to be earned incentives.

    Asomugha has a total of $1.65 million in incentives, but the rest are considered not likely to be earned.
